New beginner trail opens at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire, UK
The Queen Elizabeth County Park Trail Collective officially opened a new “lite blue” trail this past weekend. The new trail is 0.3km long and was built through the efforts of volunteer trail builders.
Bike park approved for Cosmopolitan Recreation Area in Missouri
A 26-acre, all-ages bike park has been approved in Columbia, Missouri at Cosmopolitan Recreation Area. The project should cost about $775K to complete, with funding coming from both sales taxes and private donations from individuals and groups, including the CoMo Trail Association.
Bike Portland reports hearing for off-road trails at North Tualatin Mountain
Years in the making, the master plan for the North Tualatin Mountain Trails is under review, and plans for off-road bike trails are on the table for the Burlington Creek parcel. Bike Portland reports 5.6 miles of multi-use trails are planned, and citizens can weigh in at the February 6 public hearing.
Proposed MTB skills area at Brookfield, Western Australia
The Brookfield Reserve in the Augusta Margaret River area is home to unofficial mountain bike trails, and a 12-month trial program will seek to make things more formal. As a part of the trail, volunteers and professional builders will work to mark the existing trails and rework/repair problematic trails and features.
Middlebury, Vermont group working to create a new pump track
The Middlebury Pump Track Group is working to build a new pump track that could be open for riding as soon as this spring. The trail will be located in Middlebury Recreation Park beside the Mary Hogan School.

A new trail is coming to Discovery Hill in East Sandwich, Massachusetts, according to the Enterprise. The trail is made possible through a partnership with NEMBA and it should enhance connectivity in the area.
Gravel mine proposal close to MTB system causes concerns in Pagosa Springs, Colorado
A potential gravel mine may interfere with a potential trail system just outside of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. According to an op-ed in the Pagosa Daily Post, the gravel mine would generate a dump truck entering or exiting the area every 24 minutes, causing a concern for residents and recreation advocates in the area. Development approved for MTB park in Queensland, Au
The Mackay Regional Council approved phase one development of the Pioneer Valley bike park this week. The first phase will include 13km of trails and a trailhead with a pump track, bike wash station, picnic shelters, and parking.
